Enjoy the vivid contrast of Wyandotte laced feathers. Like any beauty queen, the Wyandotte wears a permanent laced gown.
You will receive (1) surprise colored bird per quantity and hatch date ordered.
A starter pullet gives families a jump start on chicken ownership, allows families to skip the need to invest in a heated brooder, and there is less wait time for eggs. Selecting a specific hatch date of a starter pullet is your commitment to pick her up within a week of order placement on your choice of Saturday or Monday. Make sure you select the hatch date desired to ensure your starter pullet is the age you want. For further guidance on what age they can begin to be acclimated to outside temperatures, read the section on Considerations of Starter Pullets prior to purchasing.
Wyandotte hens typically start laying eggs when they are four to six months old, and can lay up to one egg per day from spring to fall. They tend to lay better in the winter than other breeds, and can average four to six eggs per week. They are known for laying large, brown eggs, but some may be cream-colored or slightly brown and can have speckles.
Sexing Method
Several communities have laws in which roosters are not allowed. Vent sexing as a day old is most common sexing method, resulting in 90% accuracy. While this age group has a higher sexing accuracy, our female coverage applies to all Starter Pullets sold.
