ABOUT OUR PUPPIES
We love the Labrador breed for the versatility in their abilities. They are known to seek out how to please their owners. Their intelligence and loyal love make them an excellent choice for a family pet, hunting companion, and/or service dog.
Considering most of our puppies find homes as working service or hunting dogs, we execute ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation). The puppies are handled individually with ENS starting once 3 days old. ENS introduces mild stresses in a controlled way. These stresses help stimulate the neurological system which improves the growth and development of the pup’s immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance.
THE RIGHT GENETICS
We believe in improving the breed and providing the healthiest puppy to those that choose us to adopt from.
We use Embark to conduct health screening DNA testing of 170+ genetic diseases to do our part to ensure the puppies we offer have the best genetics for a long, happy, healthy life. By researching the genetics of each of our dogs, it allows us to make deliberate matings to improve bloodlines. For example if a parent has one variant of a undesired genetic marker, we ensure the other parent does not have it to dilute the trait in their offspring. Equally, desired genetic markers are paired to increase passing on to their offspring.
PLAN A VISIT TO MEET THE PUPPIES
NOTE: DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, ALL VISITS TO THE FARM ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS ARE LIFTED COMPLETELY. PUPPY CURBSIDE PICK UP AND DELIVERY OPTIONS ARE STILL AVAILABLE.
Families are encouraged to schedule 30 minute private visits once the puppies reach 4 weeks old of age.
Play and interaction with our puppies fosters learning correct social behaviors. We will review guidelines during your visit. Keep in mind that your family is not able to choose an exact puppy until day of pick up once the puppies personalities are more developed at 8 weeks of age.
THOUGHT BEHIND THE GIFTS WE GIVE
We provide several free gifts for each puppy adopted. It is vital for the mental health of a new puppy to have mom's scent. Thus, we provide a blanket and toys to keep as his/her personal belongings with mom's scent.
It is important to slowly introduce a different type of dog food (if you choose to do so), thus we include a bag of our high quality puppy food.
It is natural for puppies to chew. So to save on your shoes and to help teach the proper things to chew on, we provide something appropriate for him/her to chew on.
SELECTING THE RIGHT PUPPY
It is common for breeders to wrap colored collars on each dog and make the family choose based on collar color. I highly disagree with this practice. Families adopting from us get to reserve a puppy and any special preferences right away.
We recognize it is hard to wait for your new puppy to be ready to go home. We provide weekly photos of the litter. This helps families watch the development and is great for families that like to keep photos of their puppy's life.
At 8 weeks when the puppies more developed personalities, the families choose the exact puppy to take home on the day of pick up out of the puppies available at the time of their visit. This allows families to interact with each puppy to determine which is best for them. In the event, that there is only one puppy matching the special preferences that you picked, that puppy will be reserved for you. A link to schedule your puppy pick up time will be provided after the puppies reach 7 weeks old.
VACCINATIONS & PREVENTATIVE DEWORMING
First shots are administered and include: Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2 cross protection CAV-1), Parainfluenza and Parvovirus Vaccine (MLV) 5-way protection . You will receive proof of shots and a vaccination record to know when shots are due next.
Preventative deworming will be administered as well before the puppies go home.
