We have a small flock of 3 (Silkie, Brahma, Polish). they were hatched 6/16 and are now 32 weeks old. We are getting 5-6 brown eggs per week. The Silkie eggs are small and easy to identify. I’ve assumed all the others are from the Brahma but at 7 months I’m wondering about our Polish:
Is she just a late bloomer? Is she laying brown eggs?
Is she a rooster?? (NOT crowing and sexed as female)
All thoughts appreciated.

Definitely looks like a polish hen and nota roo. Polish normally lay white eggs. However, the various colors of polish have heritage links to brown egg layers to develop the feather colors such as golden laced Wyandottes. She might be gifting a brown, but it is rare in Polish. If the eggs look significantly different in size/shape or you ever find two from the same day, I would confirm you have a unique polish.
Thank you! I’m happy to hear you don’t think she’s a roo. We can’t keep roosters and she is a beloved pet. We will keep watching and see what happens. So far we haven’t had two on the same day. Thanks again!
